BHMS; DMU (Cardiac); ASAR 0609
Belinda is a graduate of the University of Queensland in Human Movement Studies and holds a Diploma of Medical Ultrasound. Her extensive echocardiographic training took place over 20 years at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) in Brisbane, Australia. During this training she specialised in adult transthoracic imaging (including stress echocardiography), and developed a special interest in congenital and adult congenital heart disease. As senior Cardiac Scientist, Belinda was instrumental in bringing TPCH lab into the digital era.
Belinda has presented research papers at CSANZ meetings, been invited to speak at Echo Australia and has been involved with sonographer education. She is currently an examiner for the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound and a tutor/examiner for the Queensland University of Technology’s Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound (covering Australia and New Zealand).
Belinda’s interest in congenital and adult congenital heart disease had led to her involvement in Operation Open Heart for the last 10 years (a charitable organisation that promotes skills-transfer and diagnostic aid to enhance cardiology programs in Burma, Vietnam, and Cambodia).
